I didn't have enough space to root it horizontally in my 1G pot as suggested in the directions and elsewhere online, but vertically worked. The cutting, now a couple months older, has two new pads that are about 2' tall on top. No hard spines, but very real glochids. Only got myself with them once. I'm going to see if it can handle a sheltered 7a/b location this Winter.
