Known as He-shou-wu in China where it has been much revered for centuries as a restorative tonic and prescribed for many conditions. Has been called the elixer of life. A vigorous, vining, perennial, herbacious plant it dies back to its base in cold climates, but can grow over 30 feet tall where it doesn't freeze back. Hardy to zone 7. Easy to start from cuttings.
