An excellent eating apple with firm crisp sweet flavorable flesh. Green background with red stripes and orange blush overlaid. Very attractive looking. Originated in 1943 in Minnesota and has been a standard as a dessert or cooking apple since. Very cold hardy and resistant to cedar apple rust. Hardy zones 3-8.
