Found growing relatively naturalized in Yazoo City, Mississippi by Taylor Yowell – this jujube is a very vigorous and upright growing tree. It has larger than usual thorns, although the fruit is also quite large and very flavorful. It is similar in fruit size to Li, although better in flavor. It is an excellent fresh eating jujube. It ripens early in Mississippi, usually around late August. This could be a great specimen for livestock, as the tree is a heavy producer. A great jujube variety for the deep South and other jujube growing regions.
