This is the wild form of jujube that grows in abandoned places in China and prolifically produces small fruits whose seeds are used to grow jujube rootstocks. Grow your own seed for rootstocks, even one branch of this variety grafted onto an existing tree will give you enough seed to plant your own jujube orchard. Unlike most named varieties of jujube whos seeds are rarely fertile, this wild form produces very viable seed.
